You typed a reply in a hurry and now you're staring at it. It sounds too casual for the person you're writing to. Or maybe it comes across harsher than you intended. Or it rambles when it should be concise. You know what you want to say, you just need it said better.

This is exactly what the Rephrase action in YEB Translate is for. It rewrites your text with different wording while keeping the meaning intact. Pair it with the right context settings and you can turn a rough draft into a polished professional email in seconds.

How Rephrase Works

Open translate.yeb.to and switch to "Rephrase" using the action buttons at the top. Paste your email draft into the left panel and hit the button. The AI gives you a rewritten version on the right that says the same thing in different, cleaner words.

Unlike Correct (which only fixes grammar mistakes), Rephrase actively restructures your sentences. It might combine two short choppy sentences into one flowing one, replace casual phrases with formal equivalents, or tighten a paragraph that was going in circles.

Making It Sound Professional

Rephrase on its own already cleans things up, but the real power comes from context settings. Click the gear icon and create a context with these options:

Set Formality Level to "Formal" or "Very Formal" depending on your audience. A message to your CEO needs a different register than one to a new client.

Under Professional Contexts, pick "Business" so the AI uses business-appropriate vocabulary and email conventions.

Save this context as something like "Professional Email" and apply it as your Output Context before rephrasing.

Before and After

Here's what the difference looks like in practice.

Your draft:

"Hey Mark, so about the thing we discussed last week, I think we should probably go with option B because option A is just too expensive and honestly I don't think it's worth it. Let me know what you think, thanks."

After Rephrase with Professional Email context:

"Hi Mark, following up on our discussion last week, I'd recommend moving forward with Option B. After reviewing the costs, Option A exceeds our budget without offering proportional value. I'd appreciate your thoughts on this. Best regards."

Same message, same intent, but structured and professional. The casual "thing we discussed" becomes "our discussion." The rambling cost justification becomes a clear, concise assessment. The sign-off goes from "thanks" to "Best regards."

Rephrasing Just Part of Your Email

Sometimes only one paragraph needs work. Maybe your opening is fine but the closing sounds awkward, or there's a sentence in the middle that you keep rewriting and can't get right.

Highlight that specific portion in the source panel and a floating toolbar appears with quick action buttons. Click Rephrase and only your selected text gets processed. The result shows in a popup that you can copy from. The rest of your email stays untouched.

This is faster than rephrasing the entire email when you only need to fix one section.

It Works in Any Language

Rephrase isn't limited to English. If you're writing an email in German, French, Spanish, Japanese, or any of the 105+ supported languages, the same workflow applies. Paste your draft, set your formality context, and Rephrase gives you a polished version in that language.

This is particularly useful when writing in a language that isn't your first. You can get the words down without worrying too much about style, then let Rephrase handle the polish. Combine it with Correct first (to fix grammar) and then Rephrase (to improve style) for the best results.

Going the Other Way

Rephrase works in both directions. If you received a stiff, corporate-sounding message and need to forward the key points to your team in a friendlier tone, set your Output Context to "Informal" and Rephrase it. The content stays the same but the language becomes conversational and approachable.

Or set it to "Semi-Formal" for something in between. The context system gives you fine control over exactly how formal or casual you want the output to be.
